Program Description:

Visionary leaders of nonprofit organizations, whether they are the Executive Director or the top Program Developer, may find themselves from time to time at odds with the Development Office regarding the personal wishes of a Major Donor.   Many of their ideas are very compelling and fall completely in line with an organization’s mission.  Do we always hear and listen to these ideas?  How does a fundraiser take these ideas and develop them into meaningful opportunities for their organization and better engage their donor?  How are things driven in the Foundation community?  The purpose of this session is to help improve our minds and listening skills and learn how we can tap into the creativity of these major donors when considering new directives or innovative ideas.

Participants will:

• Hear how to join the vision and wishes – intelligence and creativity – in service of the mission of the organization.   
• Learn how the fundraising professional manages a donor’s expectations with regard to the direction of their gift.
