Call for Proposals - AFP Chicago Midwest Conference on Philanthropy
The Donald E.Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont is the place to be on Tuesday, October 8, 2013! Please mark your calendars for AFP Chicago’s Midwest Conference on Philanthropy- the region’s premier learning event for fundraising professionals.
If you’re interested in being considered as a presenter, please complete and submit a request for proposal (RFP) to AFP Chicago by Monday, April 1, 2013

Registration will open in June with an early bird rate offered until September 1st. Follow us here to stay up-to-date on what’s to come this October.

Call for President’s Award Nominations

Beginning this year, AFP Chicago will present the President’s Award at the annual Midwest Conference on Philanthropy (previously presented at the AFP Chicago Philanthropy Awards Luncheon).  The award will be presented to a fundraising professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to AFP Chicago. To nominate a deserving individual please click here. The deadline for all nominations is Friday, March 29, 2013. 

AFP Chicago Receives Ten Star Award and Friends of Diversity Designation
We are pleased to announce that AFP Chicago has received both the 2012 Ten Star Award and the 2012 Friends of Diversity designation from AFP International.  The Ten Star Award honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. The Friends of Diversity designation is awarded to chapters accomplishing diversity-related goals established by AFP International and at the local level. 

March Peer Mentor Class Begins Soon With Outstanding Participation 
The AFP Chicago Peer Mentoring Program received an outstanding number of applications for the March class. Twenty young professionals applied to receive a one-year mentor match from an experience fundraising professional. Protégés and mentors will be introduced to one another and begin their year at a kickoff event on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. At this time, the Peer Mentoring Committee also congratulates those protégés and mentors who are completing their match which began a year ago.

AFP Chicago appreciates the sponsorship of this program from the School of Business and Nonprofit Management at North Park University. For 2013, AFP Chicago members will be offered new benefits from this partnership. Details soon!

AFP International Conference, San Diego April 7 - 9

  • A Force for Good Mentoring Program Seeks Mentors for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) – – Application Deadline Extended through June 30, 2013.
    The Chicago Police Department and its partner agencies have developed this program to provide 35 Chicago CBOs with skill-building classes, technical assistance and mentorship to increase their capacity to identify, obtain and manage grants and other funding.
