The Continuous Learning Council (CLC) is AFP Chicago’s powerhouse behind our educational programming. This volunteer-led committee designs and delivers the Chapter’s workshops, special programs, and also hosts AFP Global’s Fundamentals of Fundraising course as an in-person event. Members collaborate on strategy, develop themes and topics, recruit and prepare speakers, and help shape meaningful learning experiences for fundraisers across Chicagoland.

What’s the Commitment?

CLC members typically meet monthly and are expected to support at least one workshop per year. This includes:

• Brainstorming and vetting topics that meet the needs of today’s fundraising professionals
• Securing and preparing speakers, including run-throughs and logistics
• Partnering with AFP Chicago staff to coordinate marketing and promotional materials
• Organizing presentation materials and ensuring content is ready for attendees
• Serving as day-of support, welcoming participants and stewarding speakers
  Members are also encouraged to attend workshops coordinated by fellow committee members to stay connected and support the team.
