The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course provides new fundraisers—those with up to four years of professional experience—with an intensive introduction into the building blocks of effective practice. To design this 16-hour course, experienced fundraising professionals evolved AFP’s introductory programs to address the real-world needs and challenges non-profit organizations face every day. 

The intensive program provides an overview of skills, techniques, and program components, and includes substantive case studies and projects for both groups and individuals.

The course is organized into seven modules:

  1. Overview of Fundraising
  2. Developing an Integrated Fundraising Program
  3. Marketing for Ongoing Success
  4. Building & Sustaining Relationships
  5. Securing the Gift
  6. Volunteers – Partners in Fundraising
  7. Management & Accountability

Course Objectives - An in-depth look at what you'll learn during each module. 

In addition, the course features case studies and small-group projects--making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. Those who complete the course are eligible to receive CFRE credit.

Cancellation Policy
All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing at least seven (7) business days before the program or you will be charged. A refund of the fee will be given for cancellations received by that date. No refunds will be granted for requests postmarked on or after July 15, 2016. Submit all requests to AFP Chicago Registration via email at info@afpchicago.org.  AFP regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows. Substitutions are gladly accepted! Substitutions of registrations are permitted prior to the program and onsite. Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution. Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited.
