Join us for light refreshments and low-key, comfortable networking with Chicago's newest affinity group!  The group welcomes all Chicago-based fundraising professionals and workers who identify as neurodiverse, including fundraisers questioning whether a given neurotype/status/identity applies to them; self-diagnosed and clinically diagnosed individuals are welcome.

The AFP Chicago Neurodiverse Affinity Group exists to create a safe space for neurodiverse fundraisers to thrive in community, affirm each others' unique strengths and capacities, and work to build a more accessible and welcoming field. The group supports visibility for neurodiverse fundraisers, with twin goals to provide space for neurodiverse fundraisers to feel themselves and at ease, as well as to shift the greater community's understanding of and accommodations provided for neurodivergent individuals.

The group welcomes all Chicago-based fundraising professionals and workers who identify as neurodiverse, including (but not limited to) those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dysnomia/aphasia, intellectual disabilities, speech disorders, Tourette syndrome, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. We also welcome fundraisers who are questioning whether a given neurotype/status/identity applies to them; self-diagnosed as well as clinically diagnosed individuals are both welcome.
